We carried out a full restoration of the corner recliner sofa and armchair.
The work included repairing a broken recliner mechanism, restoring damaged leather, repairing the foam and spring unit, tightening the support straps and adding new filling to the back cushions.
The furniture was thoroughly cleaned and, at the customer’s request, changed to a darker colour and finished with a protective coating.

The worn light fabric was replaced with a dark charcoal fabric with a subtle sheen, chosen by the customer from a new collection.
The deeper colour gave the corner sofa a different look and complemented the customer’s light grey walls.
The existing foam and wadding were in excellent condition, so both were retained.

Two completely different sofas were fully reupholstered in the same new fabric, bringing them together as a matching set while keeping the original shape of each piece.

A few useful things to know before sending us photos or bringing furniture to the workshop.
Can you tell from photos if my furniture is worth restoring?
In many cases, yes. Send us a few clear photos, approximate dimensions
and a short description of the problem. We can usually advise what is
worth repairing and which option makes the most sense.
Can you change the furniture, not just reupholster it?
Yes, where the construction allows. We can alter cushioning, seating
layout, armrests, headrests and selected finishing details as part of
the work.
Do you repair what is underneath the upholstery?
Yes. We can repair or replace foam, webbing, springs, frames and many
recliner mechanisms before the upholstery or restored finish is completed.
Can I see and feel the materials before choosing?
Yes. We have physical catalogues of leather and furniture fabrics at
our Athboy workshop, so you can compare colours, textures and finishes
in person. Please call before visiting.
Do you collect and return the furniture?
Yes. We can arrange collection and return, or you can bring the
furniture to our workshop yourself. We work across Dublin, Leinster
and, where practical, throughout Ireland.
